Well, after my last post that was mostly a negative rant about nothing. I have this to offer. Great things ahead for the outfitters in Montana. New laws passed recently will really help the struggle of getting tags for clients.

The fishing season is winding down. Some great fishing happens this time of year but all good things must end. I’m still fishing but also taking a few bow hunters. The fall is busy for this guy.

Hunting out in the big wide open is some fun stuff. Eastern Montana has some awesome deer habitat! We are fortunate to Lease some great ranches that have the habitat and genetics.

Such a great time of year. The fishing gets better. The first hunts of the year happen. Eastern Montana is a special place in September. The range is always dry this time of year but usually the fall brings some much needed rain.

The 2019 hunting season has came to a end. What a great season it was! We had a some big bucks this year, the mild winter and wet summer made the horns grow.

This is the story of Colby’s big buck. The story starts last season when Colby first laid eyes on this deer. The deer was a tight basket rack with good mass and lots of points.

Gene from Wisconsin shot this fine-looking mule deer. We had an encounter with the buck earlier that day but bumped him. The buck and several other deer moved to about 2 miles away and bedded down in some wide open terrain.

Nick has hunted with us 3 times. He usually lets his brother shoot first. This hunt was the same deal, brother Colby shot a big one on day 2. Nick passed a buck on day 3 that they took pictures of.

This story is about the second hunt I guided in 2019. The hunter was Jerry, he was new to our outfit. Jerry was a real good guy and easy to get along with.

My friend and fellow mule deer hunter Mike L. came out to hunt again last season. Mike killed the biggest mule deer in the state a few years back. This time we just wanted to have some fun and see what we could find.
